Ingredients

  • 1 lb Salted Codfish (Bacalao)

  • 2 cups Flour

  • 2 tsp. Baking Powder

  • 2-3 tbsp HOMEMADE LATIN SEASONING

  • 2½ cups Water

  • Vegetable Oil (for frying)

Directions

  • Place Codfish in a sauce pan covered in water. Boil for 5-8 minutes, drain, and do the same process two more times to get rid of the salt on the codfish. 
  • Cool and drain, pick off skin and bones if any.
  • Prepare your batter. In a bowl, make a batter by whisking flour, baking powder, HOMEMADE LATIN SEASONING & water together. Once smooth, mix in shredded fish. You’ll want a medium thick batter (not runny). 
  • Add your codfish and get ready to fry.
  • In a frying pan or skillet, heat oil until hot. Place two heaping tablespoons of batter into the fryer/skillet and fry till both sides are golden brown. Drain on a paper towel.
